Edmond F. Langevin, 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 18, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Theresa Langevin for 73 years. Born in Central Falls, RI, on January 18, 1928, he was a son of the late Arthur and Marie (Roberge) Langevin.
Edmond grew up in Central Falls, before moving to Pawtucket and starting his family with Theresa. He worked at Englehard Industries in Plainville, MA., for many years, where he served as President of the AFLCIO Union. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served his country proudly during World War II. Beyond his professional life, he found solace and enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life, particularly clamming with his wife Theresa at Fogland Beach in Tiverton. In his later years, Edmond and Theresa shared their lives at Orchard View Manor in East Providence, where they continued to navigate life's journey side by side.
Edmond had four sons, the late Robert E. Langevin and wife Winifred, Raymond Charles Langevin and wife Deborah of Seekonk, MA., Stephen A. Langevin and wife Jacqueline of Pawtucket, RI, Richard M. Langevin and wife Lucy of Virginia Beach, VA. He is also survived by two sisters, Jeanne Gellentien and husband Robert, and Betty Dion and husband Rene'; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Betty Dion and husband Rene’, and George E. Langevin and wife Solange.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his committal prayers and Military Honors on Saturday, December 2nd at 10:30am at the R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI. All those who are attending the service, please gather in the parking lot of the cemetery administration building on Saturday morning.
